Beginnings

So Sweet Chocolates is owned by Sue Papach - in Wilmington, North Carolina.

As the mom of 5 wonderful children affectionately called "Team Papach". With their love and support, along with the memory of their dad and my late husband Ray...  So Sweet Chocolates  continues to grow as a premier gourmet chocolate shoppe! It has inspired my mantra of: "Entertain the Idea of Chocolate"

As a boutique chocolatier, my idea to hand-paint our molded chocolates came about in 1996 when my sister asked for a sea-themed wedding shower!

With my children by my side, I took the skills I learned from my knowledge base of tole-painting and applied it to my hand-poured molded seashells. The edible glittery finish was the perfect touch to enhance my pieces and turn them into "works of art"!

I love to hear folks say "It's too pretty to eat"!!! One taste and our chocolate becomes a favorite artisan foodie delight!

Now, working with the love of my family, my vision for So Sweet Chocolates  is unlimited!

Since it's inception, So Sweet Chocolates  have been featured in "Coastal Living Magazine", OUR STATE Magazine, "BRIDES Magazine" and were given to over 200 celebrities at the 2004 Oscars. We have designed chocolate football Christmas gifts for the New York Giants, received kudos from Virginia Willis, Culinary Expert and author of the fabulous southern cookbook "Bon Appetit Ya'll", and won "Best Chocolate in Show" at the Atlanta Fall Gift & Home Furnishings Market® featuring The Atlanta Gourmet Market®.  ivillage.com honored us with a feature-length story and world wide radio broadcast as a "Mompreneur" and appeared on NBC as a "Woman with a Dream Job"... to name a few!

We strive to design a perfect custom chocolate creation that will accommodate any heart's desire. We hand-design each piece with our customer's taste and experience in mind...making their "SO SWEET" chocolate choice as unique as they are!
