DREAM JOBS - John Walsh Show, January 9,
2004
Sue
appeared on the nationally-syndicated John Walsh Show in January
of 2004 in a segment entitled, "I Love What I Do: Women's
Dream Jobs." Sue was filmed by the talk show crew going
through her normal work day in Whiting, and then interviewed
on the show in New York, along with several other women from
around the country who are enjoying success in jobs that they
love. It was at the taping of the John Walsh Show in New York
that Sue met Mary Norton of Moo Roo handbags, who ordered foil-wrapped
So Sweet Chocolates
in the shape of her company logo to include in gift packs for
2004 Oscar celebrities. Segment description:
Everyone aspires to have
the ultimate “dream job.” Today, we meet women
who have made their dream come true by turning their passions
into realistic, profitable careers. Whether it’s walking
dogs, making chocolate, designing handbags or being the mascot
for your favorite sports team, these guests are living proof
that "dream jobs” are attainable. First, we meet
Mary Norton. After a rough battle with postpartum depression
and a diagnosis of lupus, Mary was confused about where her
life was going and was torn about the direction she wanted
it to take. One night she had a dream about handbags covered
with flowers. She transformed that dream into a reality when
she founded her very own handbag company - Moo Roo. Moo Roo
is a $1.5 million dollar a year business with loads of celebrity
clients, and Mary couldn’t be happier. Annie Lever has
taken her love of animals and the outdoors and turned it into
her dream job. Annie makes a cool $150,000 a year walking
the dogs of Hollywood stars! She is able to spend her mornings
strolling parks, sipping coffee, and playing with beloved
puppies - a dream come true for Annie. Next,
Sue Papach, a devoted wife and mother of five, saw a need
for personalized specialty chocolates in her community. Her
hobby of making chocolate has turned into her dream job, and
Sue considers herself very lucky for being able to pursue
her career without having to sacrifice time with her family.
Cheryl Gray was stuck in the corporate world of insurance
and knew there had to be a better job for her out there. She
decided to follow her dream of working in the fashion industry
and is now a stylist for celebrity fashion and magazine shoots,
music videos, and designer runway shows. Finally, we meet
Erin Blank, who is a professional mascot for the St. Paul
Saints. She gets to jump around, have fun, and make people
laugh for a living. Erin says being a mascot is her dream
job and there is nothing in the world she would rather do.
